Frank Sinatra's music will feature at the SMARTCare inaugural fundraising event Tribute to Sinatra on Saturday, September 22, 2007
To mark the anniversary of legendary singer Frank Sinatra's death, SMARTCare is re-creating the atmosphere of 'Frankie" by bringing together well-known local artists. They include Max and Christine Miller and The Decahedron 10-piece Jazz Orchestra.
The gala night will be filled with crooning, dancing, wining, dining, memorabilia auction, raffle and all guests will receive a Frank Sinatra 'souvenir'.
The Decahedron Jazz Orchestra has a keen fan base on the Gold Coast and after a sell-out Valentine"s Day performance, it’s like gold having this wonderful jazz orchestra entertain at SMARTCare’s inaugural fundraising event.
AA Xposé Media will cover same-night photos at the event to help support the cause.
The venue is yet to be confirmed but dress will be lounge suits for the men and cocktail dresses for women.
SMARTCare was founded in June 2006 by a group of families in Brisbane who are planning for the welfare, future care and independent living of their sons and daughters with disabilities. It believes that people with disabilities require full access to the social, economic and physical infrastructure which supports our society so that they can participate fully and equally in their communities.
SMARTCare aims to establish a new and innovative housing model to support young people with a disability to live independently within a caring family/community focused framework. It will provide small, safe, supported-living environments with family and community involvement integral to its success. It anticipates that this model can be replicated for other families in other communities.
Guests who attend Tribute to Sinatra will be asked if they wish to go on the SMARTCare mailing list to promote ongoing involvement with the charity. They will also be offered discounts if they wish to attend any future fundraising event for SMARTCare.
Tickets to ‘Tribute to Sinatra’ are tax deductible as it is payable through Communify (auspicing partner of SMARTCare).
