AA Xposé Media director Aldwyn Altuney was honoured to attend a special evening at the Zarraffa's Coffee head office at Oxenford on March 28 to help raise money for the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors Worldwide Koala Tracking Project.
The fundraiser was well supported, with $3000 raised on the night alone (among about 50 people) and more offers for donations coming in.
There were a large number of people who were especially generous on the night not only with their attendance but also with their donations so a heartfelt thank you goes out to them.
Here's the word from the founder of Zarraffa"s Coffee, Kenton Campbell: "It is truly heart warming to be surrounded by so many giving and supportive people. As I have mentioned, this is a project particularly close to our hearts and we are just so delighted by the support from you all. We are very much looking forward to reporting on the funds raised at the end of the promotion and thank you all very much again."
Money raised helps the Australian Wildlife Warriors Worldwide and Australian Wildlife Hospital purchase tracking equipment and co-ordinate research into koala survival.
This research has the potential to save rehabilitated koalas which are sent out into the wild and has the potential to drastically reverse the declining numbers of koalas in existence.
Donations are key to this project with $20,000 needed for the Australian Wildlife Warriors to conduct their research.
