AA Xposé Media & Photography director Aldwyn Altuney was named 2005 Climber of the Year at the National College of Business gala awards night in December 2005.
Upon accepting her award before about 70 people at the Gold Coast Arts Centre in December 2005, she stated the importance of following your dreams and of being prepared to make changes and step out of your comfort zone to really move ahead in life.
"It's also important to have a great network of like-minded people to support and encourage you along the way, like those at the NCB," she said.
Aldwyn won the award for the big life-changing decisions she made in 2005, such as leaving her position as a Journalist at the Sun Newspapers after five years, buying a new car for the first time in 11 years, contributing a story to the nationally launched book What My Favourite Teacher Taught Me and working on a book on three Gold Coast bali bomb blast survivors, among other things.
She is now 'flying like an eagle' and enjoying living every day to the full.
