During a four-month Self Expression & Leadership Program through Landmark Education in Brisbane in late 2007, she founded and hosted the world's first Animal Action Day– a charity fun family event to raise awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment.

The inaugural event on August 26, 2007, at the Southport Junior Rugby League Club included a packed day of entertainment, stalls and prizes and saw $1000 raised for the Animal Welfare League on the Gold Coast.

The second annual Animal Action Day (AA Day) was held at the Gold Coast Rugby Union Football Club (Eagles), James Overell Park, Brighton Parade, on Sunday, October 5, 2008, from 10am to 4pm. The event, in the lovely off-leash dog exercise area on the river, raised $500 for David Fleay Wildlife Park.

The third annual event was held at Threeworlds, 2558 Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid Beach, on October 3, 2010. It was the first year it was held on a Saturday and ran from 10am to midnight with 8 bands, performers, speakers, stalls, films, art auction, over $5000 in prizes, giveaways, best dressed owner pet look-alike competition, fire dancing, jumping castle, face painting & more. This event raised $1200 for WSPA (World Society for Protection of Animals) and $112 for Save Japan Dolphins from The Cove screening, as well as heaps of awareness about animal issues.

Plans are now in place for the 2010 event to be held from October 2-3, 2010, at GECKO House in Currumbin and surrounds just before World Animal Week from October 4-10, 2010. Connecting Southern Gold Coast and GECKO (Gold Coast & Hinterland Environment Council) have hopped on board as sponsors of the event this year which, for the first time, will run over a whole weekend.

Animal Action Day is also building a big worldwide following on Web 2.0 sites including social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
